![]() | My recent personality endorsement advertising campaign on KRMG was the most effective advertising Ive ever done. |
| The Challenge | Custom new home building in the Tulsa market slowed at the beginning of 2009 due to the economic conditions and financial uncertainty that were finally labeled "a recession" at this time. Although the market did not experience the devaluation of home values experienced in other markets, prospective buyers/custom home clients slowed in their decisions to buy or build a new home. |
| The Resource | In order to keep his crews working, and "fill the pipeline" of prospective new home clients who would build when the economic forecasts and uncertainly improved, Brian D. Wiggs decided to market his remodeling and home addition capabilities. |
| The Idea | His KRMG senior account manager had an appreciation of Brian's industry due to her membership in the local home builders association, and previous marketing projects for Brian. Because of this, Brian did not have to be convinced that KRMG was the right medium to help with the current challenges. Brian also appreciated the strength and credibililty that enlisting a news talk format's station personalities can provide an advertisers message, For this reason, he chose BOTH KRMG morning personalities--Joe Kelley and Rick Couri--to do live endorsement commercials for him. |
| The Results | KRMG's Joe Kelley hired Brian to do a room addition in his home. Listeners got a day-by-day account of the work being done; Joe filmed video of the construction that was updated on krmg.com continuously as the work proceeded. Both Joe and Rick testified to the quality of the work. Brian knew "the bones" of a house from the foundation up and because of this knowledge did not have issues that sometimes crop up with less experienced and less credible home remodeling companies. After Joe's remodeling was complete, the team transitioned into promoting Brian's custom home in the Parade of Homes Tour. Brian had more visitors than any previous year! |
